Overview
Previously classified under the genus Nhandu, Vitalius chromatus is a striking terrestrial species native to Brazil’s dry tropical zones. Known for its black carapace, ivory-striped legs, and deep red abdomen, it commands visual attention while offering hardy, beginner-friendly care.
Though not aggressive, this species is alert and can display short bursts of speed when disturbed. It is a bold eater, a reliable molt cycle grower, and a dramatic centerpiece for terrestrial enclosures with adequate space and depth.
