Overview
Thrixopelma cyaneolum, commonly referred to as the Cobalt Red Rump, is a medium-sized terrestrial tarantula renowned for its electric blue legs and deep red abdominal setae. Native to southern Peru, this species thrives in transitional biomes that balance dry and humid conditions.
It is hardy, striking, and tends to stay visible, making it a rewarding display species for intermediate keepers. While not overly defensive, it may flick hairs when disturbed and should be handled only with caution—if at all.
