St. Vincent’s Tree Spider (Tapinauchenius sanctivincenti)
SIP Code: IL-NW-AR-S-013
Region: Saint Vincent, Lesser Antilles – montane rainforest
Lore Fragment
"In the deep green heart of the island, Tapinauchenius sanctivincenti moves like a whisper through moss-laced trunks. Known by islanders as the Forest Ember, it vanishes before the eye can follow—seen only by its afterglow."
Overview
Tapinauchenius sanctivincenti is a high-speed arboreal species native to the lush, humid rainforests of Saint Vincent. Its iridescent body glows with deep bronze and plum hues that shift in natural light. Unlike many arboreals, it does not build heavy webs—instead, it occupies vertical crevices and shadows.
Fast, reclusive, and elegant, this species is best suited for experienced keepers comfortable with high-velocity Old World–style behavior in a New World body. It is display-worthy in form, but rarely seen unless observed at the right moment.
