SIP Code: IL-NW-AR-S-009
Region: Veracruz, Mexico – Gulf slope rainforest margins
Lore Fragment
"Half fire, half shadow—Psalmopoeus victori is said to guard the storm-washed groves where mountains meet heat. In whispered tones, it’s known as the Split Flame—always watching, never whole."
Collection: Arachnicolor
Overview
Psalmopoeus victori, sometimes called the Darth Maul Tarantula or Mexican Half & Half, is a rare New World arboreal species distinguished by its bold contrast: deep red abdominal setae and a gunmetal-black carapace. It is the only known Psalmopoeus native to Mexico, making it a unique addition to any serious collection.
Though similar in care to P. irminia, this species is slightly less reactive and exhibits confident webbing behavior. Ideal for experienced keepers looking to add an uncommon, high-contrast species to their arboreal lineup.
