Category
New World Arboreal
Adult Size
Females: 5 – 6 in (12 – 15 cm) leg span
Males: smaller and more slender
Temperament / Behavior
Fast-moving and defensive when cornered but not aggressive. Prefers retreating to its webbed tube or bark cavity. Exhibits strong feeding responses and frequent visibility near the retreat entrance. P. victori is notable for its striking black-and-red coloration, giving rise to its “Darth Maul” nickname.
Recommended Enclosure
Vertical arboreal enclosure (~12–14 in tall) with an upright cork bark tube or slab. Add artificial foliage or vines for security and climbing options. Substrate should be slightly moist with high ventilation to prevent stagnation.

Temperature: 75 – 82 °F (24 – 28 °C)
Humidity: 70 – 80 % RH
Ventilation: High — essential to balance moisture and prevent mold
Diet / Feeding Frequency
Slings: Flightless fruit flies or micro crickets 2–3× per week
Juveniles: Small crickets or roach nymphs twice weekly
Adults: Medium crickets or dubia roaches once weekly
Remove uneaten prey within 24 hours.

Fast growth. Females mature in approximately 2 years and live 10 – 12 years. Males mature earlier and live 3 – 4 years post-maturity.
